VAYOTS DZOR — One of the most picturesque regions of Armenia, surrounded by mountains, deep gorges, caves, ancient fortresses, and monasteries.

In one of the caves of Vayots Dzor, a leather shoe was discovered, considered the oldest known shoe in the world.
According to legend, the name "Vayots Dzor" derives from the Armenian word "Vay" (an exclamation of sorrow), due to the frequent devastating earthquakes in the area.
Today, however, Vayots Dzor is known as a land of tranquility, beauty, and historical heritage.

The landscapes of Vayots Dzor are remarkably diverse: rocky mountains, green valleys, canyons, and mineral springs.
Summers here are sunny and warm, while winters are snowy and crisp.
